Two of us went where someone told us to go from Winnapocket Lake to Boscawen trails. Well we went off the lake where we were told and started down the road where other tracks were and low and behold a green man came out of nowhere. We plead or case and got off w/ a warning. He said you can't be on any road unless it connects to a trail.
He said to check every club to see where the trails were. Of course they keep changing. He said if you come off a lake there must be a sign saying it's a trail. Well we all know there are many places that should have signs that aren't there, so you expect it's OK to go where lots of other sleds have gone.
It's a crap shoot out there and F&G could give 100's of fines a day if they wanted to. He must have been right around the corner waiting for sled to get on that road.
It just goes to show you, you almost have to guess where the real trails are. Be carefull. That's the 1st time I've been stopped in 7 years.
