Have any of you other renegade owners had any problems with excessive sag in the rear suspension? You can pick it up about 4 inches until the track comes off the ground, and my coupling blocks are always at the back with no one on it. I moved the torsion springs to 4 and it made almost no difference. I've read on dootalk and some say rear shock others say torsion springs. A shock guy told me the rear shock is probably tired but it only has 1600 miles??? Its a sc10 3 and non rebuildable.

Remember, shocks only dampen the bumps, springs are what actually hold it up.

$125 worth of new springs should fix that right up. You might want to do new shocks at the same time those have to be contaminated at that point. Go onto dootalk and do a search for a guy names Maize, he's got great deals on rebuildable rear shocks, can buy all 4 shocks for less than 2 at the dealer.

If your a big guy, go with the heavier springs. Doo makes three different spring tensions. Go heavy, then you do not have to have your shock maxed out to make up the difference. This will give a smother, less jarring ride. Pnuematic tools make it a lot easier to swap the srpings and shocks out. Took me an hour to do mine. Rebuildable shock are nice.....but i find they are a pain to pull every 1000-1500 miles to have them redone, just my opinion since I have rebuildable shocks.

mine go about 3-4k between rebuilds and I'd rather be able to rebuild than have to buy new ones.

I agree on the springs, I'm a big guy carry a tank of gas and a tunnel bad and was always on preload 4 on the block with the stock springs, when I went to the stiffer torsion and center springs I was able to change that to 2 unloaded, 3 with the jerry and bags and 4 when I put the +1 and my daughter on it. BC3 on dootalk makes torsion spacers that also help, wish I had done those when I did my last rebuild but I'm done putting money in my sled, saving it up for suspension mods on my next one.

I didn't think the springs would be gone already. I only weigh 175, but I will be riding my son who weighs 70 on the +1 seat I got from Patriot. I did read some people think the square tube springs from doo are weak. I already talked to Maize, he has nothing for the rear/rear. Ian has a new fox shock for $300. I guess I will try the springs first....trying not to sink too much money into it. Do you think I weigh enough to use the stiffer springs on 1 when I'm by myself?

I had my shim stack adjusted when I did my springs so not sur how much difference the springs alone will make. You may want to try the torsion spacers first using the existing springs, I didn't sack out my original renegade springs(x and reg renegade have same springs) for over 2000 miles and I outweigh you by about 100 lbs.

It's not just your weight, its the quality of the springs, how you ride, where you ride, weight of extra riders, etc. I have 100 pounds on you and I ride with my son on a 01' MXZ. So you can imagine where ALL the blubber sits when he sits in fron of me. I give my springs a good work out.

I used to have the same prob, esp with my son on the back. I got the torsion spring spacers from the guy on DooTalk (BC3 I think is his handle?). I also got the heavier springs. Honestly, with my 250ish lbs and my sons 100+ lbs, there is not a spring strong enough. But it all helped, especially now that I am riding solo. And I do need a new rear shock, it is leaking a bit of oil.

I did the BC3 spaces from new- big difference in sag I also did new shock and springs for this season. Also when you store your sled, take the pressure off the spring.
