This Saturday I am planning on riding OVSC and SOS trails.

Will I be able to ride with the dog sledding event going on in the OVSC trails? Will you guys be shutting down those trails?

I would like to get to Welch Top from White Lake. Is the Ossipee Lake marked for a safe passage route?
I have seen the posted map by Sledd, but would feel better if the trail was marked or well defined.

And finally. This Saturday seems like it is going to be a good day for riding. On a day like this, what time would the Canoe King parking lot fill up?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

lot can fill early on Saturdays, if thats full you can park at white lake or SOS has parking at the marina or airstrip. No marked trail across the lake that seems to be frowned upon in NH. If you came out of Westward Shores Campground onto the lake just head out into the lake a bit then head south you'll see Long Sands pretty easily as long as the day is clear. Once you get to long sands follow the lakeshore to the left and as you enter the channel there will be a marked trail at the marina/campground to head to Welch Top.

09/10 season 860 miles as of 2/19

Crossing Ossipee lake is easy enough, just head right out across the middle and hold a good speed. There will be tracks to follow. Aim for the last house on Long Sands (south side of the lake). Any dangerous spots will be self evident.
You can park @ Constitution Park off Rt 25 in Ossipee now too. The first left on the long straights of Rt.25, Long Sands Road. This means you'll be right ON the Welch top trail, and then you can choose to cross either the main lake or Broad bay to access the greater SOS & OVSC trails. Crossing the main lake from the south is easier because you can see the channel right from the start. Sledd's map is very accurate.

And WELCOME to SledNH.

The trails will remain open, there will be signs clearly indicating the course and we ask that riders in those areas use caution during the hours of the race.

Please, join a Club where you regularly ride...and when you see a Groomer Jar hopefully give what you can as every penny counts!

Also what trail is coming out the center of Ossippi Lake On the south end, it's the OVSC's welch top trail that leads out through the ball park and also out to Broad Bay.... on the west shore mid lake it's more or less a "locals trail" I think...I think it leads up to Rt16 following the Bearcamp river...Comes out near the C-19 crossing..I do not think it's an official club trail. North of that is Westwood Shores, an OVSC trail. Calumet is SOS's trail.

click on the map to view full image and the print is a little clearer. The marina you ask is labelled O.L.M at the north end of Broad Bay.
The trail you ask about is not a marked trail nor are any of the lake trails. They are just routes that have been travelled for many years. The trail you ask about would take you to corridor 19 right where 19 crosses rte 16...
didnt notice OT beat me to the question. again the map is for good reference, nothing official..

It's a great tool. Some day I hope the clubs of the area are able to sell "downloadable" GPS maps via the club websites.

That trail goes from C-19 to the lake via Westwood Shores...It's @ the FIRST road crossing NORTH of RT16 on C-19 (Rail bed)...You have to go off the rail bed and down about 40' of the dirt road. It is signed.

I hope it's a clear day so you get the full view. Have fun. The trails south of the lake have not bee groomed yet, but are in good shape none the less. Waiting on a registration for the newly acquired Bearcat so I might get out there and do what I can for them.
