I have a 2001 MXZ 800 Adrenaline with stock exhaust and can. I have been resealing the exhaust with orange/red RV silicone gasket every other season. I am getting tired of pulling this thing off, cleaning it, resealing it and re installing it. Is there a better stronger seal? Do the springs loose their tensil strength to hold the pipe so the seals keep breaking or this is just normal? It gets a little loud when the seal is broken.
Last question, I riding in New Hampshire and Maine is there an after market exhaust and can that maintains the stock decibals but is much lighter in weight? I am not looking for exotic set up either, just weight savings.
Thanks
sealing the exhaust...

Skidoo dealer should have the doughnut gasket, it should be made of asbestos or some material that won't burn up from high temps. The silicone sealer you should be using is Copper silicone,it is high temp. and used on car exhaust joints before being clamped together. Springs could be getting weak,I changed trhe exhaust springs on my atv for same reason. plowking
