I've been reading on the other sites about the ethanol "problems" and have, I hope, a straight forward question.

Haven't been out this season yet , last season I topped the tanks off and added Sta-bil for storage. Should I drain the tank and start fresh or add k100 and run it? Any other suggestions?

If I should drain the tanks, what do I do with 20 gallons of messed up gas?

Thank in advance.

that fuel from last year if bought up north has no ethanol in it so the treatment is probably fine but if you want to be safe drain it into your truck it will be fine there. I rode last week on last years treated gas with no issues but I've always seafoamed my fuel.

Running the gas or draining the gas will make no difference at this point. If you filled up in the NCountry, you will be fine. As for running the gas, if you put additive in it, you will be fine.

The issue is that as your sled sits in the offseason, the Ethanol pulls the H2O in the gas out of the gas. The fuel system is sealed and the H2O has nowhere to go so it condensates on the needles and other metal components of the fuel injection system and can cause rust and corrosion on those parts.

I filled my sleds last year in April with ethanol fuel and took them out in November, finally ran the tanks through in December. No issues here. They say you don't really have problem until you start going over 10%.

Question I have is how do you know what gas is being sold at the station you fill up? I know all of Maine is E10 but where are the markings on the pumps showing it's E10?

There should be a square yellow sticker next to the pump handle stating that the gas contains 10% ethanol.

I'll just have to pay closer attention when I fill up I guess.

the only reason that northern NH fuels had no ethanol in it prior to now was because most of it ships from Portland not revere but now that they are mixing in portland just about everywhere should have 10% ethanol.

I always drain the tanks and put the old gas in the truck. That way I know what I'm starting with.
