Thanks!
As I type Mark & Jim (whtmtn & automover) are out in the Tucker 1000 and John & Barry (ckf & beagle) are grooming in the new Ranger. Also Josh is in the BOT groomer high atop Mount Shaw!
Everything will be put back to perfect by morning, and the new snow will be icing on the cake....
Please, join a Club where you regularly ride...and when you see a Groomer Jar hopefully give what you can as every penny counts!

How often do you groom, when there is enough snow, and the weekend riding is over? Reason I ask is because I (am new for one) am going riding monday, tuesday and hopefully wednesday and I just wondered if the trails are going to be groomed then, or if I should be prepared for choppy conditions.
As a rule, do you (OSVC, SOS, etc) regularly groom, even though there is no new snow?
Thanks in advance

SOS tries to groom when there is the least chance of running into too many sleds. Friday nights, Saturday nights, Sunday nights (holiday weekends) and Monday through Thursday Days. Traxter is out on weekends during the day in the dreaded carved in bark area to ease recovery time at night. Both tuckers will be running today so be careful, we will be concentrating on the chimney trail and getting the 2000 to the gas station. This all has to do with temperture, too warm can't groom so we sit and watch the thermometer till it creeps back to 31.9.

Thanks!!
Was out on the SOS and OSVC trails today, they werent too bad! a few rough spots and water bars here and there. My sled is an 89 model, and my friends have newer sleds and they seem to handle the choppiness much better.
I am learning to handle the sled a little better each time I ride. We rode down the airstrip today and they left me behind. My Yamaha 570 could beat the AC500 but its just too bumpy for me, so I backed off. Later in the day I learned to use my knees a little and I went a tad faster. On the the lake I was able to lose the AC500, but not the 700 triple. That is serious fun, gliding across powder on an open lake.
Only had 2 minor problems: My boots leaked and my feet got wet, and my exhaust side cowling nearly came off causing a lot of powder to go right in my face. Not too shabby though. I do not have all the fancy snow gear I guess. I am using an Artci Grade Carhart coverall, walmart snow boots, with Job Lots Gloves, and a HJC helmet. I felt like I was gonna fly apart
But I had a BLAST!!!!
