Ray..... I was at the bridge all day... all welding for the 400' of fence is COMPLETE the bridge has been jacked for the last time and is is resting comfortably on it's bearing plates , we had to attach 8 very heavy pieces of channel underneath the chords over the freezing water, literally taking out lives into our hands... we finished the job in the dark using a huge torch for light.. we were tired, cold, hungry (by 645pm.. )and the crew had dwindled to TWO.(guess who one was?)
and then along comes good old RAY.... and you can't PROMISE PURE WHITE, FLUFFY SNOW?? ,,,, just for that you are only allowed to used the bridge on Tuesdays between 2 and 215 pm!!!

OPEN LETTER TO TLTD MEMBERSHIP: Submitted by Dave Murray on 11/4 (edited for length)
TALENT is a funny thing, everyone has some, not everyone uses it, it can be difficult to see in some people, yet other people have "talents"
we'd never expect them to have.
I joined the Trail Dusters only a year ago, but I shared my talent with the club by coordinating the fundraising and construction of a new 35-
foot bridge that is part of the Riverhill Loop Trail. I also brought to the club a fundraising idea that proved to be very profitable, the ONLY
limiting factor of its potential is the number of club members willing to step up to the plate and put a little extra effort into its success.
I now look to my next "snowmobile horizon" and have set a new goal, a goal that has been many snowmobilers’ dream for 30 years. It is the
dream of a bridge crossing the Contoocook River in Mast Yard. It is part of state corridor #11, where our club meets with the Contoocook
Sno-Mads. I will keep our directors informed of the progress as info becomes available.
Our club has energy; it's an energy that hopefully will bring new faces to the club, new changes in the thinking of our membership. We get so
excited when there is enough snow to go ride our sleds. Where is that energy when it comes to club functions, activities and WORK?
This past Sunday our club president put out a invitation to come to the clubhouse for breakfast prior to starting trail work, my first thought
was "what a dumb idea!" Then my neighbor mentioned that he was going, with just a little persuasion I decided to head to the new clubhouse
for the "inaugural breakfast". I was very surprised that our president is a great breakfast cook! Upon entering the clubhouse it smelled awesome,
I almost never drink coffee yet had two cups it was so good, plus orange juice, an OFFICIAL "Trail Duster egg mc'muffin" and pancakes!
I can only say that I'm sorry to all who missed it.
If I had a wish as a club member it would be that every member was able to share their talents and positive energy with the club and that people
wouldn't get discouraged if things weren't going their way. My "professional talent" is raising flowers, it's not a "talent" I would have chosen,
it's a "talent" I GREW into, it's not how our farm started. 102 years ago my farm was a dairy farm, then from the 1940's until 1971 we
had chickens to make our living, and now it's plants. In some ways a snowmobile club is just like my farm. Being a active club member is a
lot of work that comes with great satisfaction, sometimes certain jobs are not as fun as others but the rewards can be GREAT, and for a club
to survive the test of time we must all realize that change is an essential part of survival.
As I stop and think of my own "talents" as a new club member, there is just one important one: THE DESIRE TO MAKE OUR SPORT
BETTER! I hope that my energy and talent is doing just that. Please get involved. David Murray

Anyone know if they wing a flat area to ride the long edge of the road from Contoocook to Mast Woods entrance? I know the plan a couple years ago was to do this and wondering if I have to wear my carbides out for this 1/4 mile road trip.

The plow drivers in town must not be riders as they do not keep sleds in mind when they plow. There is no winging going on down Penacook Rd. You have to make your own trail to keep off the tarmac or wear down your carbides and skis. It would also be easy to life the blade when going by a trail so as not to block it with a wall of snow. I know, I know, it's not part of their job description and they have work to do.
