I am planning a family BBQ at my camp in Freedom, and was wondering if anyone knows if the fireworks visibile from Ossipee Lake will be held on the 4th of July. This is only my 2nd summer on the Lake, and I don't know what the usual protocol is for fireworks. Does anyone know?

The Town of Ossipee has their's at Constitution Park on the 4th. Camp Huckins usually has their's on the weekend before the 4th. Last year Huckins had them on July 1st

Ossipee's always makes for an interesting boat ride after if your in the bays, I can see the fireworks from the dock so I like to sit there and watch the parade of boats go by with some cokctails prob more fun than the fireworks

Maybe this is our next contest - the best 4th of july pics - anyone who wants to enter posts, then we do a poll with each poster and let the members vote on which wins - pic with the most votes wins.

I stopped going to the Huckins show once Ossipee started, would like to make the trek back one of these years but it doesn't seem as if they advertise when they will be? If anyone can find out, please post it..

As for the boating situation on the night of the fireworks YIKES! I throw an anchor overboard in close proximity to the rock bar out by Totem Pole hoping most people know there are rocks somewhere over there and they will just stay away... Once it's over, I hug the shore line for the short jaunt home, armed with a mag light, scanning back and forth behind me. Call me paranoid but man, so many people just nail it and run wide open across the lake right after the show, it's crazy. If we could get a good view from the dock, would most likely just leave the boat on the mooring that night.

Yeah, my place is just north of totem pole on the east shore and i noticed how nuts it was on the lake after the fireworks. That said, I've also been out on a boat in Boston on the 4th and watched the parade of boats coming out of the charles river through the locks. Basically, you can plan on having your boat be used as a fender for everyone else!

I love the idea of posting pics of the 4th of july fireworks. I will plan on taking some. :-)

Whelp your somewhere close to us. I looked at the markers a couple weeks back, 3 of them (northern most) are close to rocks but the others to the South, I haven't found yet. For the one's I found, the markers are all about 10-20' away from the actual rocks, placed to the North, stay to the North and your fine.

I'm hoping your not the guy that gave me a rash of crap about riding my 4wheeler a couple years ago.

I'm not the type of guy to give ANYONE a rash of crap about doing pretty much ANYTHING (since I'm often the one doing the things that piss others off). :)

This is only my 2nd summer having my camp in Freedom, so I am still getting my bearings on local activities, etc.

I'm over in Danforth Bay and it is truly an adventure navigating the channels to get back! The fireworks are always a good show and well worth the ride! The kids get a big kick out of watching them from a boat.

we did that the first year we were there then figured out we can see everything right from our dock. With the kids being a bit older we may go back out and just wait for the traffic to clear this summer, we do Huckins by boat because it's fairly quiet.

After spending 9 years on Broad Bay - the Huckins fireworks were scheduled almost always 3 days before the Ossipee fireworks. Those we could watch from the deck and were almost as spectacular as the Ossipee fireworks. Just a rule of thumb though.
