The groomers went out last night to assess the trails and fix up what we can. I will break down the info, but one theme is ice. There's a lot of it. I would highly suggest running studs. Also, there are some water holes the are getting a bit deep.

Bear Brook: Trails are icy, thin in a few areas. We are currently not grooming Hall Mtn (to dangerous when icy with the Groomer) and the Lost Trail (Groomer became stuck in one of the water holes). 1 Mile Trail, Black Hall Road, are good, Ferret and Archery Trail are decent. The blade on the groomer is done for the season so we are doing what we can with the drag.

Tower Hill area: Trails are icy, and areas that receive a lot of sun are getting a bit thin. There appears to be snow cover on the RR Bed, but the groomer didn't go there last night because of a water hole. Need to go out today and check it out to make sure it's safe to cross.

Pawtuckaway: Trails are hard and icy. I did the main road last night and campground loops and was able to loosen up some snow. The ATV/Truck ruts are hard to fill in so please be careful. I wasn't able to climb the first hill with the rubber tracked Track Truck, it was too icy.

So there is some late season riding, probably through this weekend. We have a good base down, but without some new snow to fill in thin areas and provide cooling/lube this may be the last weekend. Your best bets are to park as close to Tower Hill pond as possible or the Bear Brook parking lot.
