A group of us were riding in Laconia yesterday. First time on those trails for me. We approach Rte 106 across from Pedal Pushers and are waiting to cross the road. A Lexus SUV is sitting to our left with it's blinker on to turn left and when approaching traffic clears he turns down the road next to Pedal Pushers. The 4 of us now cross and are following him down this road. Mind you this is the first time on this trail for us and we all know some trails go down a road occasionally. Anyway we drive about a 1/2 mile in and we all realize this is no road, just a really well groomed trail! This guy in the Lexus keeps going. I think the whole family is in there, 4 or 5 people. We went for about a mile, he stops and I think he realizes this is not a road. I can't believe it took him that long! He lets one of us go by, but it's really narrow with him there so he keeps going. All of a sudden he's face to face with a groomer! Well at that point we all just about fell off our sleds we were laughing so hard. The 3 of us behind him pulled up onto the snow bank along the side of the trail and he starts backing up. Thing is he's got really crappy tires for this terrain. He almost slides into our sleds,. I'm pushing him back into the trail as he backs up. Took him at least 5 minutes to get far enough back so the groomer could get past us as well so we could continue on. As he passes us, the guy in the groomer leans out and says "I know our trails are groomed so effin good they look like roads, but this is ridiculous!" :good:

Anyway I had to share this story, we were still laughing hours later over drinks! :drinks:

Classic! Had a similar deal last year, near dusk a buddy and me come around a corner and there she is, NY chick in an F-150 right smack dab in the middle of the trail... She pointed to her GPS "but it said this was the way to go". Seeing as the first few hundred yards of the class 5 she was on wasn't plowed or groomed...

Thats Funny, one night last year while rideing near Fabians we came across some old guy who took his car up the trail.
All was well till he hit soft stuff. The nearby Ramp Truck driver was scratching his head trying to figure out how he was gonna get this car out 75 yards up the trail sunk in snow.

thats not the first time the nav system took a truck down a sled trail in the winter. Skip found a direct TV van buried to it's axles 1 mile down the trail a few weeks back.
