a four wheeler went through the ice on saturday in milton on the river between the 2 ponds if you don't no there is open water at both ends, at the bridge and about 1/2-3/4 mile down you will be ok if you stay to the right or left but the middle is a bad idea.

Actually if your going to head through the river whether your heading to or from the wooden bridge your going to want to stay towards the maine side shore, It usually isnt safe on the NH shore side of the river (no wake zone) and this year is no exception especially by the bridge and at the other end it is open from the middle all the way to the NH side shore so be careful! I wonder if alot of people dont know about the trail from townhouse pond to mi-te-jo campground and out onto the big lake?

The trail is well marked onto Mi-Te-Jo. Just follow the tracks too!

I never knew it was safe at all to go though there. I get real scared of cold water unless I have my 6mm wetsuit on.

Groaty, do you want to go for a ride around Waikefield/New Durham next weekend? I am going north tonight but I think the trails should be pretty sweet for a while down here. I like to eat at the Diner and head out from there.
