Headed out from West Ossipee Sunday morning with the wife and a friend in tow, followed in the tracks laid down by Legend 700 & ckf, who headed out an hour earlier for Stewartstown.

C-19 tracks north were awesome as were the trail from North Conway to 113 in Chatham. Crossing over in to Maine conditions were good although not as smooth as NH. Deer Hill Mountain was trashed, but still very passable. Through Evans Notch conditions improved and the scenery up there is second to none. Once through the suspension bridge and back in to NH the trail was OK, but water bars were starting to show again. About 8 miles out of Gorham my buddy went right at a bar where everyone else went left, and he planted one ski firmly into the opposite bank. A little bit of muscle and we were on our way in to Gorham and a Chinese feat and fuel downtown. Wonder if this was the same water bar that did in Legend700 a couple of weeks ago?

Turned around and headed back, having the trails all to ourselves out in the Gorham area back to Evans Notch. Even in the Notch sleds were few and far between.

Back up and over Deeer Hill and on the bottom we foud a DirectTV Satellite install van buried axle deep in the middle of the trail. No one around and the nearest road access was two miles away! I would love to hear that story sometime!

Back into NH in Chatham and smooth sailing through Conway until we hit C-19 south again. 8 hours later C-19 was the worse for wear but we were glad to be winding our way home.

Back in West Ossipee 8 hours and 160 miles later we all had huge smiles. My wife made it on her longest foray yet and never complained a bit!

If you haven't made the trip through Evans Notch and points north you should plan on it this winter. And as my wife attests, it definitely is a family style trip, with Deer Hill the only consistent area where a little extra care usually has to be taken.

Hats off to the BOT boys and the grooming job they do out of Chatham! :good:

Please, join a Club where you regularly ride...and when you see a Groomer Jar hopefully give what you can as every penny counts!

We've had 2 vehicles on Lead mine rd this year. Both of them said their navigation system told them to do it. One was from CT and the NY. Neither one of them saw the 3'x4' road closed sign. :pardon:

I've spent too many years dealing with stolen vehicles...I don't think this one was a theft. I think you may be right, someone not familiar with poor directions just went down the road. It was flat and solid....its amazing what stupid things people can do....we'll hook up for a cold one sometime and I'll tell you some of my better war stories! :drinks:
